Default Greddy Spectrum Elite Dual

Hey ladies and gents,

I was wondering if you could chime in on the differences between version 1 and version 2 of this exhaust.

How do you tell which version is which? I'm about to buy this used for a good price but I need to know what version it is or if it matters at all.

From looking around the forums, it seems that version 2 has improved sound quality but aside from the diameter it is unchanged from what I understand. PLs correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks!

Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think V2 added a resonator to reduce drone and improve overall sound. Check on gotuning's website for the exhaust. It may explain it there. If I ever do get to modify the S2k, I'm getting this exhaust as well. Love the looks and the sound

I have the V1 version of this exhaust and can confirm that it does have some drone in the typical 3k RPM range. IMO, it's not terrible, but YMMV. As far as the differences in the two systems, from what I read the V2 system eliminates most, if not all, of the drone but from the outside looks identical to the V1. Not sure if there is an easy way to identify which version you have.

V2 has a Helmholtz so its very easy to tell if the exhaust is off the car. If the exhaust is still on the car, just take a peek underneath and see if there is a Helmholtz or not.

Are you talking about that thing sticking out right before the resonator closer to where it connects to the cat?

Yes, that thing, is the Helmholtz.

The biggest difference between the two version are revised internals of the mufflers and resonator. The only way to tell the difference between the two from the outside is the addition of resonance pipe which is designed to work in conjunction with the revised internals of the resonator to reduce drone.

I have a Gotuning v2 without the helmholtz. Must be the first run because the packing material in my mufflers broke loose, which was an issue with the v1 (supposed to be resolved with v2).

With all that being said, still one of the best looking and definitely one of the best sounding exhausts for this platform. Hks high power isn't even in the same dimension.

you have the v1 and not the v2 if you do not have the Helmholtz. What is the age/mileage of your exhaust?
