Default Hardtop Brackets

Hey everyone,

I am looking into getting Izzys rear hardtop brackets. Does anyone have these one with pictures they can share? Id like to see how they are set up on the hardtop. I cant seem to find any images online for them.

And as a side topic, anyone recommending other brackets to secure the hardtop properly?

if they are same as the brackets forbidden usa used to sell, those brackets are garbage. they vibrate and flex a lot because too thin. and it's PITA to take hardtop on and off.

We do not use Izzy brackets. We have two new designs now then what you use to have 2 yrs ago.

I was looking at mine the other day wishing they were steel as the aluminum is pretty thin. I'm going to install mine for a test fit this week and see how mine do.

The design is good but because its aluminum it flexs easy which allows the top to move. If it was steel or had some bracing it the back it would be much better

Stronger does not mean better. Let me explain

If you use steal brackets, the top will be so stiff it will not allow flex with the body roll of the car. Therefore, it will create tension which will create noise.

If you own a hardtop, go up and drive way and see how much much tension is being created due to the body roll. Now imagine if you had steal brackets and your top couldn't flex with the body roll of the car.

Agreed with Alberto. Same reason why you don't torque the nuts too tight either. You need a little play to prevent creaking. Anyways, all of the one piece hardware available for hard tops is junk

I think the real answer here is to get a cage to eliminate chassis flex .
