Unhappy HELP. valve cover..

so i decided to polish the top of my vavle cover and paint the sides yellow.. it took me about 4 days. got done today put it on took it out. on my way home from work i got on it and about 8 to 9 rpms it would sound like its back firing or bogging out making a weird noise like if the motor was choking. anyone experience this?

If you took it off and painted it correctly by taping everything up then I can't see how it would cause that. You sure your not just paranoid from taking it off? (If you took it off)

Yeah and not really. Everytime you take of the valve cover off your suppose to replace the gasket. Just drive it as little as you can for now. Record the sound with a camcorder or something so we know what it sounds like though.

check and recheck that all vacuum lines and hoses have been re-installed properly. also check that the coil packs are plugged in correctly.
