Question HFC with AP1 stock exhaust vs aftermarket exhaust setup

Hey everyone, first post after reading a LOT of threads on this site which has helped me greatly with my 01 AP1. Ive had the car for almost 3 years now and need some advice as my build is coming to a climax.

I recently purchased a Greddy emanage ultimate and have read that the tune would work best with an aftermarket exhaust for better flow. I like the raspy sound of the stock exhaust (UK mod + FIPK K&N intake) and would prefer to keep it and get a HFC instead (can't get a TP because they're illegal in NSW). Would getting a HFC be beneficial with the future tune as it want to lower VTEC to 5K or is it better to just get a legal aftermarket exhaust instead? I'm sure the gains/loses are negligible but wanted to know if anyone here has any experience with this setup.

HFC would probably help with more gains (after tune) than any aftermarket exhaust, stock system is not that restrictive just really heavy.
You could probably lower VTEC a bit more than 5k if you wanted.

You can lower vtec down to just below 4k with just a hfc. For a tune, a hfc is going to make way more difference than any aftermarket cat back.

The cat is the limiting factor on lowering vtec bellow 5300rpm, the stock catback is not. So yes get the hfc with respect to the emanage tune being effective.

Berk is probably the most popular choice and for a good reason, that's what I would get.
63.5mm version would be the best match for stock exhaust.

Berk have been known to fail. EVS Tuning 63.5mm HFC is my favorite one available. I have it on both of my cars.

Why not go ahead and use a test-pipe on the stock exhaust for better gains? I've done that previously on my stock exhausted vehicles, it isn't loud or obnoxious at all and not sure if it even has a drone.
