Default HKS Hi-Power exhaust. Too loud need options

Hello
just bought a 2002. Has the HKS Hi-Power and it’s obnoxiously loud. Also has that grapefruit shooter exhaust tip look.
It is a straight back exhaust.

Options? Can I add resonator to dramatically reduce sound or do i replace the muffler?

Looking for cost effective solutions.

Thx
Jim

Just buy a quieter exhaust(dual), sell the hipower to help pay for said new exhaust.

buy the HKS dual exhaust. Not too loud but adds some grumble when you want it to.

I've really only researched 3" single race type exhausts so I'm out of my element with "quiet". I currently have the 76mm HKS single and find it pretty tame for a single.

For duals I see Mugen and Milltek referenced a lot for tame/quiet.

Find a oem exhaust and put that on. Want more sound look up the uk mod for the oem exhaust. If you have to have an aftermarket exhaust the tanabe medallion is a good option.

Manga spawn is right. For aftermarket, the only consistently praised exhaust for not being too loud/droney is the tanabe medallion touring. I'd try a stock exhaust first, then the tanabe.

I love my Tanabe Medalion Touring exhaust. It's a proper dual exit and will bolt right up to your cat in 30 minutes or so. Did this without adult supervision or assistance.

whats a cat? Lol

I want to be clear. I love a good sounding fairly loud exhaust. It doesn’t have to be stock. I have a Ducati with race exhaust thats amazing. This HKS is just obnoxious and probably not helped with no cats.

Im looking for a lower cost replacement. Doesn’t have to be stock sounding. The car was only $7k. Don’t want invest in an expensive exhaust.
