Not too long ago I installed a Q300 (from stock). The Q300 is not that much louder over stock, it's a deeper tone - but not loud.

I kept the stock cat.

The exhaust does drone though which becomes annoying at around 3,600 rpm. However I have found this improves a lot with time. I think once there is time for soot to accumulate in the system it has the effect of deadening the sound. Think of the exhaust internals when new as a nice shiny drum cymbal, and then after 6 months as a cymbal caked in a layer of soot.

The Q300 dual was my first exhaust on my S2000...I did like it at first because it was indeed fairly quiet. BUT, a little louder than OEM is an understatement. It is still loud but not obnoxiously loud. Got a Berk HFC to pair with it, BAD idea. Sounded so raspy and Integra-ish...

Q300 + HFC.

Fast forward a couple of years, got bored of it, purchased the HKS Dual Exhaust...LOVED this exhaust, not quiet by any means, but it does sound very exotic for a 2.0 Inline 4 engine. It has a rather high pitch sound. The growl sound out of the dual was something I love. I loved it!

HKS + HFC

Fast forward a few more months, I got a brand new Spoon Sports N1 muffler kit. I told myself I had to have a single exhaust. Recently got a job in downtown so parking was terrible...I wanted something loud. It was the perfect decision.

Spoon N1 + Test Pipe.

PS...they ALL drone. I would rank in order of more to less drone of the three. HKS dual, Q300 dual, and then Spoon N1. But then yes, it is my personal opinions.

The Q300 actually is quiet. When used with stock header/cat as it was designed for--it's a street exhaust. It also sounds best on an AP2.

Six years on my car and counting.

I've got a straight through test pipe on my car. Your car looks superb by the way

See if this works. I recently installed a Berk 70mm HFC and love it. Less drone produced around 3-4K rpm for sure.

Edit: sorry forgot to list what exhaust. Lol it's a Invidia Q300 dual also.

I had the Q300 dual with a 70mm test pipe and it was insane how loud it was. I have since put the stock cat back in and it sounds so much better. Perfect for street use IMO.

I'd like to amend my previous post by saying that this exhaust seems louder the lower the revs are. If you drive timidly and rarely go above 3-4k rpm it seems kind of loud and boomy. However, during revving it out and harder acceleration it sounds really good, but not much louder than stock.
