J's exhaust silencer arrived !
first of all, thanks for the help from Bulletproof Automotive, my J's racing exhaust silencer arrived today after a month of waiting
the silencer is so small, i think its restricting A LOT of air flow
is this really how its suppose to be? is it designed for people to do emission test? It would be pretty embarrassing driving around with that sound (i don't really mind the vtec part if it doesn't hurt the engine)
i searched and not sure if the 70 RS is using the same silencer?
does anyone have the J's racing exhaust with silencer?

^you sure? from what I've seen they usually do. That is just a trade off with using it. almost ever silencer I've seen looks like it bottlenecks the exhaust really bad coming out of the tailpipe. With that being said I'm really surprised it's as bad as you say it is. I wouldn't think it'd be that bad but I would expect enough of a difference that you'd notice it.

It's no surprise. Add a restriction to your exhaust and you will suffer performance. It's a tradeoff...
I've seen dynos with & w/o silencers for other exhausts. It's pretty significant.

OP, if you remove the silencer, does your car drive normally? I'm assuming this is the only change you made?

That doesn't sound right at all, what's the diameter of the pipe?

Did either of you read what he posted? You think this is normal?

perhaps they sent you a silencer for a Honda Fit J's 60rs, which has a much smaller pipe but perhaps the same size tailpipe.
Meaning it would fit the outer diameter but has a smaller diameter to work with the small pipe

I used one of the aftermarket 3in. perf. cone silencer in my J's 60. Car still ran all the way to redline, butt dyno could not tell any differance. It made a noticable differance in sound volume but still sounded good. No where close to stock volume. That may be an option if you want it a little quiter.
edit.
I would drill a lot of holes in the one you have and see what that does. The holes in the perf. cone silencer are about 1/8in. dia.

It only going to make a small change Dynatech clams 1-3db. but I could tell the differance.
