Default J'S RACING Type V Carbon Hood Authenticity?

Picked up a J's Racing Carbon hood and I was wondering if there was any way to tell if it is an authentic J's racing hood. I don't see any markings or labels on it.

How much did u pay it for? The js stuff usually has a plaque on them to authenticate them.

If you don't see any tag or plaque then chances are it's a replica...and how much did you pay for it?

If it is old it will not have a plaque. Mine does not and I know it's full history.

You can tell by the carbon quality and weight of it but you need to be familiar with them. There are too many fakes out there. If it is heavier than the stock hood then it is fake. The newer ones have a metal emblem inside the hood.

Post pictures of it.

To post photos, I use photobucket.

Photobucket:
1) Upload an image
2) Click on image
3) To the right of the photo, there should be four different codes under the "Links to share this photo" Click on the the one that says IMG, and it will copy the code
4) Paste the code onto the page, and it should post the picture

Mine had a plaque. They're also 1x1 weave and most knockoff carbon parts you see are 2x2 weave.

i hear that the older J's hoods didn't have a plaque. I also hear that the vents on the replica's get narrower than the authentic, but im not 100% sure on that. i tracked down one of the former owners of the hood and claims it as authentic. So i guess the only way to tell is to have have an authentic one and compare from there?
