Default koyo radiator: capacity vs weight savings

i bought a koyo radiator , i know the koyo weights less than stock, but it also has a greater fluid capacity , at the end of the day does the increased fluid capacity make the car heavier or is it equal

I pondered the same thing. The answer is "who cares?" My guess would be a net increase in negligible weight. I'd trade more efficient cooling capacity for a few ounces of added weight any day of the week.

I didn't have to ponder and I came up with approximately the same answer:

"who the **** cares"

Pull the radiator out all together, that will save some weight.

There's a place to save weight, and a place to have weight. My track car has a large dual pass radiator and stand alone oil cooler. It's probably an extra 2-3 gallons of fluid. Big deal.

agreed. You're better off skipping breakfast and saving the weight if you're that worried about 5lbs.

As far as I am aware, no Koyo radiator weighs less than the stock radiator; the stock radiator weighs virtually nothing without the fans attached. I have a Koyo Hyper-V for increased cooling capacity over OEM; it is heavier before you add fluid and most definitely heavier when filled to capacity.

There are much better options for shedding weight from these cars, rather than trying to lighten already feather-weight parts.

U would rather have extra weight/cooling to help motor than a few extra pounds in my opinion.
