I tried this one more time and this is the final time I try.

I put the same leds back in without resistors or anything and they worked fine for a couple of days. One stopped working and blew the fuse to my low beam for whatever reason. Removed them and order a new pair of LEDs + a h1 decoder. Plugged everything up and it worked fine for a few minutes then stopped. The drl function is eliminated, no drl light on the dash either but the LEDs work as high beams. Strange as hell.

Tried connecting the plugs in various combinations and got nothing so I officially give up unless someone comes up with a genius idea.


Back to Nokya hyper yellow bulbs for me.

All in all I learned that simply plugging in LEDs will work for a few days max, then the low voltage will burn out the LEDs. The decoder did nothing but work for a few seconds and got rid of the DRL light on the dash even tho the DRLs wouldn't turn on.

Stick to halogens

Thanks for the research.

I'm astounded you could replace the bulbs so many times! Took me what seemed like an hour go change the high beams (to brighter halogens) two summers ago as there is no way even my small hand will fit in there!

Reviving this thread to provide a solution. We now have a custom harness + LED solution that will allow any S2000 00-05 or 06+ or DRL equipped S2000s to upgrade to LED High Beams and DRLs.

With your kit, is the DRL brightness / light output the same as the high beam? As in there is no difference between the two?

Yes, both are the same output. We tested them during the daytime, they're bright, but they're not too bright.
