Much thank to @spider2k for helping me by 3D printing out the parts and to JBjamin for measuring. It is close! I had to dremmel a bit and got it to fit but has gaps.

Here are some better measurements. @spider2k do you happen to have white translucent color like stock knob? If there are such filament, let me know and I can buy it and ship to you. Also please give me your PayPal. I'll send you a few dollars to cover your shipping costs and labor.

 

@spider2k Actually I'm going to send these knobs to you for your use. You can make those inserts/lens and test it out for yourself
I'm planning to be in Japan soon (may be in the summer). I'm can pick up another set from them while I am there. Just give me a set of inserts then

I just bought a set of the MITA knobs. I’m a little disappointed about the “gap” as a solution and I’m trying to get an OEM look with a filament in there. Would anyone mind sharing a 3D printer file or would be willing to print one for me if I were to cover time/materials/shipping?

 

i let the tinkering lapse as i have focus issues. ill see what i can come up with and post here when i do. maybe someone else will beat me to it.
