Mugen Hardtop

Today I received my double-sided carbon fiber Mugen hardtop. I had no idea that it would be so thin and I would be able to see light through it, or that when I drive and roll over the smallest bumps the hardtop sounds like it's cracking. (Almost like breaking a CD in half X10 loudness). That being said after an hours of making it fit and getting almost all the bolts in to hold it in place - it's finally installed. I can't say that I'm very happy with such an expensive purchase. Live and learn I suppose... But I never heard these horror stories from anyone else. Is this an odd issue only I am experiencing?
Thanks!

Should I ask brand? is it like a mold residue that's breaking off?

Nothing is breaking off. Not that I can see anyway. It's just a very loud flex (cracking sound)..I should adjust it..but it's already installed the only way it really can fit.

Mine used to make a similar sound when the top would rub on the molding that goes around the soft top. Make sure you got seal inbetween your top and the molding especially on the sides

It's not the seals. I checked..

Who did you buy from? I have a double sided carbon top. I can see light through it (well some, most of the outside of mine is painted), but I don't have issues with crazy cracking noises. I'm using OEM hardware though.

OP is being a bit too vague.

What brand hardtop is it?
What seals are you using and how were they set around the sides and trunk?
What hardware are you using?
