it's easier to just use the stock caliper, that way you don't have to resize the pistons too drastically. if you went to a 2 pot then a lot of calculations would have to be made and a llot of testing would have to be done. by keeping the same caliper you can be sure you're shifting bias rearward by a known amount.

when you go to a larger diameter rotor the torque arm on the rotor changes as you space out the caliper to fit the rotor. this creates additional brake torque and changes brake bias.

you can see here: http://maxrev.net/index.php?location=timeattack07.htm

that this driver speaks favorable of the increase in rear bias but they're also no running stock ratio tire widths (front and rear)

i'd honestly like to see a full fledged vented rotor as this thing from j's is only half width vented.

back on topic...

where is the ebrake for this rotora kit. they may be showing a generic picture but i don't see any provisions for it.

if you're willing to do a lot of homework you can get

http://www.eliseparts.com/shop/index.php?m...products_id=574

and just figure out what size rotor and what size pistons (since they offer customization) will get you the right brake torque

What flaw in the stock brakes are you trying to address?

Heat comes from the kinetic energy of the vehicle. That's mass times speed^2. It has nothing to do with the size of the tires. If anything, more rubber would allow you to stop harder and faster, which is actually easier on the brakes than a long and slow stop. Please don't try and BS this.

Bling is fine, as long as it doesn't try and pass itself off as usefulness.

in a lot of the older threads i dredged up while researching the lack of rear brake kits some autocross and track guys frequently reported rear rotor temps that were significantly higher than rear, acceptable temperatures, but higher than fronts.

if rotora falls through, look what i found today:

Thats alot of money for just 2 brackets and brake rotors.. because that is all your getting different from the OEM setup.
