If your good with a multi meter my guess is pretty much anything is possible kinda. But for ease I would grab a a small half moon flip switch and mount it somewhere hidden.

Ill admit I have not done this mod tho, so maybe someone that has will have some better insight

i wanted to wire it to the oem defogger switch on the dash but then i realized that i would need the clip and pigtail to go with it. Wanted it to look oem.

Why not just wire them into the low beam circuit. OEM fogs on my cars go off when the high beams come on and everyone in my region with fog lights runs them every time the headlights are on anyway. A switch is unnecessary.

I kinda liked the option of turning it off when I wanted to. How do you wire it to the low beam circuit anyway?

I've not done this in years but we used to just tap power off the headlight low beams right at the lights. You may have to check fuse or circuit breaker sizes depending on the amps the fog lights draw. Eons ago I ran 12v aircraft landing lights as high beams in a quad round sealed beam system and had to rewire so the low beams turned off when the high beams/landing lights came on or the circuit breaker would trip and it got very dark! When these were on the distance I could see was astounding.
