Vid of Tiff Needell demonstrating VSA on glare ice (Jag):

This is similar to the Honda system with engine cut + individual braking.
For the record, I think this type of VSA is by far the safest.
I would buy a system like this if available (MY06-08).

The aftermarket RLTC has the engine cut part of VSA, which turns out to be the most important part to correct in the S2000. The extra time it gives you to recognize and correct in a low traction situation is invaluable. The slip adjustability is nice.

Here is a longer version of the clip:

The impressive part is the utter lack of drama.
I remember Corvette slalom testing that had similar results.

A funny one about a truck: "mit ESP" is with ESP.

And for you AEM EMS users! I think there's Traction Control included... anyone want to confirm?

The AEM TC system does not sense wheels looking and only works on RPM vs throttle postion vs "engine accleration"

[QUOTE]Most OEM and available aftermarket traction control systems use wheel speed inputs to determine traction conditions.

The RLTC system also interfaces to the ABS system so has more info to make decisions with.
The AEM has more control over the fueling and ignition though!
Confusing
Maybe I'll get Mase to try and tune the TC on the AEM if that doesn't work then I'll get the RLTC system.

Ok, got an email from the US distributor. I can get 10% off the Racelogic units for s2k'rs. That's ~$100 off. I don't make a single penny or free products or anything from this at all.

Or you can call them and order on your own:

Note that the prices on their website may not be accurate. When I ordered mine, the telephone price was much lower. PM me and I can find out how much exactly. It varies a little due to Euro vs $ fluctuation.

They're running the unit on one of their racing SC Vipers.
The parent company says the unit is used on Lotus and Aston Martins, but I cannot confirm in what capacity.

Racelogic is a well known company and Motortrend uses their datalogging equipment for their track testing.

There even quite a few units of Racelogic's TC floating around in Malaysia as well, if anyone needs even more assurance that it's well known .

Please, let us AEM EMS owners know the outcome of this.

I think the elise 240r or one of them over in Europe had the racelogic where you could adjust the amount of slip. Saw it on Top Gear or Fifth Gear. I think it was Tiff also.

CKit--thanks for the writeup and the review---very nice!!!
I reviewed the installation instructions off the RL website--the install looks pretty straightforward and the initial calibration is easy to understand but the last 40 pages with all the possible "tweaks" using your laptop is intimidating----did you have to do any calibration beyond the intial setup--without using your PC to tweak it?
thanks for your help!
