Default seat question, How low can I go.

I went to go road racing at Pocono over the weekend, and the tech guy said that my head was over the factory roll bar so they would t let me on the track. so i was wondering what seat would bring me the lowest.I might go with a roll bar but i don't want to cut up my car. Thanks for your advice in advance.

Any side mount fixed bucket should be able to drop you 2+ inches. That will bring up a bunch more issues though, not sure if they will let you run it with a stock seat belt. In that case you would need a harness and a proper way to mount it. As long as your head is under the windshield frame you should be fine, I guess certain organizations are picky.

Yeah most bucket seats with the correct rail will let you get it on the floor. I have a recaro pole position and the bottom of the seat is no more than 1/2" from the floor.

With a helmet it's pretty hard to be under the factory roll hoop even if you're short. Without a helmet I'd say I'm an inch below the factory roll hoop. You'd probably be best off just getting a rollbar. If I had to make any guesses that track will eventually require you to have one weather your head is below the factory hoops or not.

Yes, and it gets trickier than you think. On the east coast you end up going to a hard top in many places, out west they are starting to get stricter. I run a dual density roll pad that gives me 2" more "height"
