Single exhaust for the track...?
been looking into getting a single exhaust but it's hard to tell exactly how loud they are. the tracks i go to have a 90-92db limit. are there any singles that would actually meet this limit? or maybe one that is close but would pass with an elbow attached to the end for track day?

You're gonna need something custom, or a J's 60RS with cat. Or a ASM Siren.
Single and quiet generally don't go hand in hand. |
Hm, that dB limit seems rather low. FWIW, the Best Motoring S2000 exhaust comparison test showed the OEM AP1 putting out 96.2 dB when "racing".

wow, that sounds high. i've been running OEM and have never been flagged for sound. i've also seen a lot of guys running singles at the track and seen a lot of them getting flagged! some seem to have success with an elbow pointing away from the sound meter...

HKS 75mm single. End of discussion.

get an elbow exhaust tip. That makes almost all street exhausts pass at laguna seca.
I ran the a j's silencer in my j's 60 titanium. i'll even sell you my exhaust and silencer if you want it since my car still just sits in the garage all the time. PM me. |

My ASM 70 is in the mid 80's on a otherwise stock CR at most SCCA autocrosses I have done. I don't know what it would read on a road course. It would depend a lot on where they set the mic
edit After going thru the sound logs that they still had on line. I hit a high of 90.7 at one event, I had a 97.7 but I think that was a bad reading. I hit 85 or below 9 times and 86-89 5 times. They try and setup the mic at 50 ft from the edge of the course where we will be wide open. |
Challenge usa exhaust.
