So i did a bunch of searching and can't find out what these "mud flaps" in front of the tires do...

I can almost guarantee they are not mud flaps i just don't know what to call them. Please educate me lol

Oh like a diffuser i guess that makes sense. So taking them off wouldn't be that big of a deal then....

Taking them off will reduce high speed stability ever so slightly. They do matter, but its not like taking them off will make the car airborn at highway speeds or anything

They guide air around the tires, when air hits the tires (tires are turning fast) they create more drag..so it just diverts it around the tires

if your car is lowered more than an inch and you have a lip/diffuser then you can take them off. But otherwise if you are at stock height and no lip spoiler then when you go 80+ mile an hour the steering wheel will get loose and try to fight you a bit. The car will become less stable and act as if it has a mind of its own through the steering wheel. Not a good feeling if you are traveling 80+ miles an hour. This is from personal experience. Don't touch your rears though...

My front ones would scrape everything constantly so I got rid of them.
