Default Stock vs. HFC 70mm Dyno Chart

started to mod my AP2, so far I have hear good reviews for HFC and Flashpro.

They are fairly inexpensive, so here's the dyno before and after.

it's a Berk 70mm HFC, and tuned by Jeff Evans
Hope this will help some that is thinking about HFCs, enjoy

the sensor had some problem with the tq read out. so do mind the spikes of tq at the end

Thanks for sharing, but I'm a bit confused by the 3 plots. It seems that the blue line is with the stock exhaust, stock cat, and stock tune, right? It also seems that the red line is the stock exhaust, Berk HFC, and Evans eTune, right? What is the green line? Is it the stock exhaust, stock cat, and Evan's eTune? If so, then I guess you need to ask Jeff to adjust your eTune for a higher VTEC engagement. Your VTEC is currently too low for an HFC, since the HFC causes the big resonant dip in torque at 5K. Unless you get a test pipe, your VTEC needs to be about 5600 in order to maximize the area under the curve.

Exactly what I was thinking. It looks like the stock tune was the best overall. VTEC must be pretty low to cause such a huge drop in torque.

I thought so too. the stock tune gets the most power over all.
pretty bummed out after seeing the dyno
I think I need more mods

i guess this kinda proves there is no gains from a HFC?? either test pipe or leave it stock???

No, it doesn't prove that. It just proves that the stock cat with the stock tune makes more peak power than the HFC and tune that SmokingTSX is using. I suspect that the custom tune is running very, very rich, and it's clear that the VTEC engagement is way too low (about 3600 RPMs?). All of the Evan's tunes I've seen are based on Hondata's AF Corr value, which only seems to be accurate for California cars. If the tune were corrected, it would make more power than the stock cat and stock tune, but not by a whole lot.

Looks like you went backwards after your HFC and tune?

Was this the final tune, or just the first of several to figure out what is best?

it was the 6th and final tune
the vtech is set at 4200 that's where the hp and tq jump way up (Red) above the stock line (blue).
Then it seems to me after vtec the power went below stock till about 5.6k rpm.
After 5.6k it gains some power vs the stock.

It needs tuned properlu, however a testpipe is better for lower down vtec engagement than a HFC.

I have witnessed this with my setup but i am superchargered.
