What does the test pipe add to the equation? How does it change the sound?

After watching a bunch of Tanabe Toouring exhaust videos with interest in buying one myself, it seems like the test pipe makes the sound a bit more aggressive and gurgly/raspy. At least for what its worth through video and not in person.

test pipe makes it quite a bit louder too. I currently have a Berk 63.5mm HFC with this exhaust.

Previous review of my Tanabe Medalion:

I'm thinking reverting back to stock. Still a little too loud for me.

I'd ordered a new exhaust which I THOUGHT was the Medallion but it ended up being the Concept G. Bit loud with a TP but not horrible.

Love the tones of the medallion tourings... Good call!

I'm in Chesterfield (suburban Richmond) if you want to hear in person what the Gernby FlashPro tuned Berk HFC + Tanabe Medalion Turing exhaust sounds like. If you arrive in a S2000 you can drive the car if I get to drive yours.
