I installed the orifice today. It reduces the diameter of the oil channel from 8 mm to 3 mm.
Installation is easy, but here is a word of wanring: Clean the orifice thoroughly before installation. The reason is brass creates very tiny chips when it gets machined. I found a small one in the clear plastik pack in wich the orifice comes.
Remember, you work on oil channels of the engine wich are located AFTER the oil filter. No dirt or or dust should enter this. Work as tidy as possible. I coverd the other oil channels with tape and rupper plugs to avoid that dirt enter the engine.
Place a rag over the water hoses of the Oil cooler to catch oil drips, water hoses dont like engine oil. Use a new VTC valve gasket.

Installation is easy, but my heart skiped a beat while installetion. Why? Judging by pictures, the Orifice should sit flush with the mounting surface of the VTEC valve after installation.
Mine just fell into this postion losely, with play. I tapped it a litte bit with a regular size hammer.. still not good... One more tap with a little bit more oomph... and it slide into the hole, about 5 mm deep.
I almost had a heart attack this moment. But there it was, sitting thight. I could not remove the bolt wich is used for installation with my fingers, i needed a allen key.

Becaus i was concerend that something went wrong, i run a small, long allen key down into the hole and find to my great relief tha the oil channel is about 6 cm - 2" deep until the allen key stops.
So, the orifice in my engine sit about 4-5 mm deeper as advertised, but it´s O.K. Beside that i have some additional grey hair in my beard...

Test drive showed that everything is O.K. VTEC works, no oil leaks. Inspection of the filter screen in the old VTEC valve gasket showed onl a few very small black dots, the size tenths of a millimeter. Looks like i have a healthy engine.

Default Might be good

I often hear that s2000s suffer from oil starvation on track on corners. Perhaps it's because too much oil is pumped to the head?

This is what I assume Toda is using it for. I will email them and see what they say, better to get more information before install

Quick update on this.

A number of my friends, both street cars and track cars, have this installed now. None of the people who track their car have anything in their catch can anymore, we are all removing our catch cans.

My friend with an oil pressure gauge said this:
"Also needle on the oil pressure gauge is so much more stable too. Before needle was shaky now all stable "

^ nice. Just ordered one. $38 after tax. Might hold out installing it though.

Have you done an oil analysis since install?

I did and didn't see anything but that sample had both before and after on it. I'm waiting to change my oil again to get a sample with only the Toda orifice installed.
I have one track day on my current oil and I'm debating if I want to change it early to get a sample or wait until later this year to get another track day on it.

Keep us posted on the next oil change. I'm planning a motor refresh next summer, right after my next smog check. Planning to log 3 more track days before that.

I'll probably get this Toda doo-hickie-thingy installed at that time, assuming continued positive reports.

That said, i've had few issues with blow by if i keep my oil at the lower levels of the dipstick - the bottom 2 "x" marks. If i fill above the half way mark i start getting blow by.
