VSA can be both a good and bad thing depending on how good of a driver you are
I took BMW racing course before and I had an instructor beside me teaching me on how much to steer and how much gas to apply during oversteers.
However, VSA itself does cut fuel when it kicks in, making it harder to control in an extreme oversteer situation (in a mild oversteer situation and given you have no idea what you're suppose to do, VSA can and will save you)
The fuel cut can be overrided using Flashpro however. Flashpro is something you'd get along the way so don't think of it as extra expense.
In my opinion, it's good to have an 06+ S2000 given the VSA and Flashpro compatibility if you're a new driver.

Or like what most people mentioned, get any year you want and invest some money in driving schools. It'll help you for the rest of your life

Too much in my opinion. For others, it may be just right. It wont let the car slip more than a certain amount, you can only go so fast with it on around a corner. In the rain i do keep mine on always though. If your car starts to slide it will correct it for you, just make sure you point the steering wheel in the right direction and hold on. Keep the gas at the point where it started to slide and the car does it all for you. Not pointing the steering wheel where you want to go will result in you crashing anyways.

To answer the OP question though it is possible, just a massive pain in the ass.
