Wide fender questions
 

HI guys. Sorry if this has been asked before. But I'm new so give me a break.

Anyways... I'm trying to see if i can run a wider fender up front and not run a wider (or over fender) in the rear.

Ideally, the point behind this is to run a non staggered wheel set up. Couple it with a slightly more aggressive offset wheel in the front, and therefore have more options to wheel selection when I install BBK's.

Has anyone ever done this before? And what wheel set ups could i use?

yes, its been done many times before. you can go wider in the front, or just in the rear it is up to you.

To answer the question: yes, you can run wider front fenders without balancing out the rear.
Just because you can do something, doesn't mean you should. It looks ridiculous. Makes the car look like a wedge. It will make it look like a drag civic.

How odd it looks depends on the fenders. Some like Spoon or Cwest aren't super wide. The J's one in the picture are like 35 mm wider than stock which is a lot. I would say you should be able to roll the fenders and run camber to fit a lot of different setups. You are going to have to roll your rear fenders anyways so rolling and slightly pulling the fronts shouldn't be out of the question. You can fit 17x10 square with 255's on the car with rolled fenders and the right camber. 17x9 +45 all around (or offsets within a few MM of that) can fit with rolled OEM fenders.

What about 17x9 +42

It will fit on OEM fenders. I ran 17x9 +43 in front with a 245. Rolled fenders, slight pull, and camber. I think I had it set at -2.5 for camber on the OEM fenders.

What happens to the OEM fender liners when you go wide body?

Depends on the fender. My downforce fenders the OEM liner stays in place. I think some come with pieces to fill in the gap or you may have to trim it for some of the others like the J's fenders above.

Downforce fenders are perfect for what you're looking for.. OEM lines but wider than stock. There are several wheel options that will fit under stock front fenders though.
