If and when you install a race seat and harness, will you have to cut a slot in your trim to pass the harnesses through? Or did you already accommodate that? It's hard to tell from your photos. How many hours (bar and trim) did it take?

I am considering the exact same bar for my MY07 as well. I am tired of rolling the dice at track days. What seat/rails are you looking at?
It's not a fun job.
To make the plastics fit like I did, you better had not skipped art classes as a kid.
Stock rear trays and plastics were in and out many, many times to trim, test, trim, test.
The bar itself is excellent. It's as high as it can be, and as far back as possible for tall people.
The 4 bend double diagonal sits just a bit forward... No bulkhead problem for that bar, but I'm told you lose significant recline if the seat is back.

I spent a week putzing around to make it perfect and look OEM.

I have no plans at the moment for track seats, but adding the harness bar later would add significant inconvenience to do it later, so it's there.
I'm not sure, but if I added race seats, I'd at least pull the retractor before adding a slot.

Thanks a lot for the excellent pics!

I just had the rollbar installed at a shop, and I told them not to worry about putting any of the interior pieces back in except for the seat belts, and center console. So now I have a pile of trim pieces and I have a few questions for you. You had to trim the soft top tray parts, and the upper door trim pieces right? Do you have any pics of those? Also, there are metal soft top motor covers that come off. Did you trim them and put them back on, or just leave them off? Thanks again for this.

Another question regarding the harddog bar. Fasting, you said you installed the double diagonal U bend bar.. do you or anyone else know if this is the same bar still sold by hard dog? I don't see any "options" for the double diagonal bar on their website, just one model.

Also, s2000_916.. did you get the bulkhead replacement bar or cut up the stock bulkhead like fasting? I would like to keep the stock bulkhead to make it easier to reinstall the plastic trim pieces, but am concerned with harnesses it is directly in the way. Thanks!

They still have it. I just bought the double diagonal bar from them, and it arrived two days after I called them. Great company to do business with.

Great work, any relatively difficult steps?
All the plastic cutting, trimming, fabrication of the hoop covers... sucks.
Makes the wheelwell cuts and roll bar plate fitment seem like fun.
Bump, finally bought mine and gutted the interior. Taking it to a shop for the cutting and then I'll re-install what interior I can.

I got a 4 bend, no diagnol with high harness bar. I can keep the bulkhead with stock belt reels, but am not sure about stock hoops/speakers. Will i lose my factory rollbar speakers?

Awesome work men!

That a good choice bar for tall people (like me) most bar's doesn't allow you to get the max back and recline of the seat.

Does you feel more wind noise when you drive top down or just the same?

I don't notice any wind noise difference.

Why do you need to cut into the frame to mount the bar? Seems like a design where the frame is sandwiched between the mounting plate on the bar and the backing plate would work? Then you could only have to drill holes for the screws.

The base of the floor needs to be cut so the plate can be half on the with 2 bolts and the other bolt or two maybe bolts down outside of the cut. If you you didn't cut that slot the plate would only be big enough to use two bolts. Not strong enough.
