any gear lower than the 4.10's is going to be better unless your goal is high HP SC or turbo.
if you do lots of Hwy go 4.44 or 4.56.
I like my 4.77's make the car great for around town, I got them from HTG, good service and he can make them stronger than stock. They run 600 more RPM's and have an increase of 16%.

can anyone throw out some quick computations on what the respective gear sets will lower you top speed to?
gear calculator.

I'm no expert, but when you go turbo, depending on the size of the turbo (larger turbos spool up slower), you need time for it to spool up and extract all the power out of your set-up before you reach your shift point. The shorter the gears, the quicker you run through your gears.
Please someone correct me if i'm wrong smile.gif

please excuse my n00b questions. haha.
lots of people with turbo chargers keep the 4.1 stock, some if they have enough power have even dropped down to 3.9 because they find they cant put power down and still need longer gears to fully utilize the power in the lower gears.

it's probably out there though. the 4.77s seem pretty good as they are without getting too extreme with shifting early. it'd be interesting to try a super high geared differential out for a day...
