I said Butt Load not Boatload, and I count 6!

http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/...HAUST+MANIFOLD

Part 4 Manifold Cover A
Part 5 Manifold Cover B
Part 6 Manifold Cover C

Part 14 floor heat baffle
Part 4 and 5 Cat baffles, upper and lower

Talking about an after market header and Cat, do all heat shields get deleted?

4,5,6 get deleted since there arent any mounting points on aftermarket headers

14 stays, 4 & 5 get deleted unless you buy a cat which has the mounting tabs for the heat shield, but the welds on the test pipe are usually pretty weak and snap off.

A man with experience! Did you have any detrimental effects from loosing those shields?

I am running a PLM header and I noticed a slight increase in under hood engine temps. I really would have liked if the factory exhaust manifold heat shields could have been carried over to the aftermarket component. So now, in an attempt to reduce some of the heat being radiated from the header, I am making my own one-off shield that will be treated in a paint coating that has heat absorbing properties.

The other heat shield that blocks engine heat from the fusebox, battery and a/c lines does a fantastic job. I would highly advise not to remove that shield if you are looking to show off your new header.

Wrapped headers are very prone to cracking.

in my previous Miata getting aftermarket header and deleting OEM heat shield made engine bay significantly hoter.

i guess no reason that the same won't happen with S2000.

now i have Rick's header with stock heat shileds and bay temps looks normal (normal "hot").

A few guys I know really said wrapping was a PITA and recommended that I get mine ceramic coated. I sent it out two days ago. 'Cost is $130, wrap with SS ties, and paint(yes you spray the wrap if you do it right) is getting close to $100 plus your labor. Ceramic coating is the way to go, I sent mine to Appliedplastics.com and talk to Casey, good guy. But there are a zillion places to do it. Do not coat your Cat as you can fry it, test pipe yes, HFC no. I am going to try to get the heat shields back around the new Berk HFC if I have just wire them on. Oh one more thing if you happen to have a oil leak the wrap with absorb the oil and then cause an engine fire. No one plans on an oil leak but it does happen and wraps have burned up cars.

OEM!

Nah if you wrap it nice and tight, nothing will happen to it.
