Can we do that? I have an AP1 and I need to replace my engine (bottom end). My head is brand new. Can I Use my F20 head and F22 bottom end? or can I put in an entire F22 without changing wiring/ecu?

well, it runs decent but the check engine light starts flashing and then it runs with what seems like a misfire, however it doesn't leave any codes from the flashing CEL.... could this be due to it running lean/rich as i put the F22 in place of the F20 and am running the '02 f20 ecm?
also there was one electrical plug under the intake that i could not find a home for, kind of square, back by the starter (not the one that plugs into the sensor in the block, that one is round)

sounds like your knock sensor is probably broken off. That has a square connector with 1 terminal on it, and they break off the block all of the time. just bought one on ebay for $31 shipped.
I'm doing this same swap. Any info you can give me would be great!

ground on the back of the head is DEFINITELY on there tight. i was thinking misfire could be due to the ap1 ecm running the f22 engine? i can't find a home for that plug...
