A LS6 is not worth a large premium over an LS1. Buy a dirt cheap LS1 put on new heads, intake and a cam. And you have a better engine than an LS6

just shows what I know...I thought for sure a
ZO6 engine would be the do all /end all of swaps for an S.

The ZO6 motor in questions is 385-405hp.

now if we were talking about an LS7 (05+ZO6) engine I would have to agree on the do all end all comment

The motor that you are in question buying is an ls1. It is a 5.7 with a different cam and a LS6 intake manifold. It is an all aluminum block. However if you are looking at swapping this in an s2000 you would have to find a different bell housing for the transmission as the transmissions in the vettes are mounted differently. Aluminum blocks are great for NA and mild Fi applications where as the iron blocks or LQ9 etc are used for high FI applications since they are an iron block.

My bad, I thought it was for some reason.

lots of partially correct information in this thread...
I'm pretty sure all LSxs are aluminium blocks. The LQxs are essentially the same but iron blocks from the trucks. I could be wrong though. Either way the LS6 isn't worth that money.
yes, all of the 'LSx' blocks are aluminum - many of the LS family - but not explicitly 'LSx' motor designations that were used in the trucks and likewise are also aluminum. but yes, many of them are also iron block - the lq9 is a popular 6l iron block motor from a lot of 'early' trucks
not true - the ls1 and ls6 blocks were different. many of the later (01-02) LS1 equipped cars (transmarobirds) did come with the ls6 block and ls6 intake. they ls6 'engine' designation would also include the 243 heads that were a nice improvement and depending on the year a different cam.
you are correct on the trans but it's sort of confusing - the vettes run a torque tube to the trans in the rear. everything rear of the engine will need to be sourced elsewhere - any transmarobird t56 would bolt up without any drama and there are a lot of other options.
aluminum block LS anything have been steadily going up in price lately, same for the t56s. When I bought my complete low mileage drop out a few years back I had it shipped across country and was still done for sub 3k. Now a run of the mill transmarobird swap is going for ~5k+. substantially more for 6l anything
prices vary a lot but local is hard to beat - it's nice to see the engine, run a comp test on it, etc. That said, the asking price is high. Even with that low of mileage... it's still not a 6l - meaning you'll never be able to put the awesome ls3 top end on it. Without the trans he's probably 1k high on his price - assuming it's a complete engine dropout, computer, pedal, harness, accessories... someone will buy it at that price though.

LS1s are all iron blocks though right? If you care about weight I'd get gen 3 Al block or newer. But I'm no expert on the topic. .02
