Default 06 s2000 inline pro 12:1 motor.

Hello,

Looking for some advice before getting a tune.
I need to break the motor in for about 500 mi and I'm wondering if I need a starter tune to do this as the compression is raised. Car has it's first 30 min idle session with oil change and now I'm fixing a coolant leak before break in miles. I have a Hondata.

My question is, will it be safe to drive at lower RPM until the break in is finished?

Thanks, Kyle

Yeah. Just impatient. Got everything in and received details on motor break in but no specifics on if I'd need a tune. So just waiting the weekend out waiting for an email.

Default Update

Just in case this benefits anyone else.

Inline pro that it was good to drive on with 93 pump gas. ECU should be able to take care of it.
After break in if there are counts of knock or car is pulling timing. Tune.

Engine is custom sleeve 12:1 with head work on stock cams. Stock exhaust, k\n intake.

Cheers

Heh. I took this advice from them before. Do an extremely easy break in and get a tune IMMEDIATELY after regardless of ECU pulling timing, etc.

You can search my post history for my inline pro engine(s) x3 saga.

Oh it's you lol. Totally have read your threads, I appreciate all the detail. Thanks for commenting and Really sorry you had such a tough time of it.
I drove it 2 mi gently and got a break in tune from Jeff Evans yesterday and am keeping it below 4,000 RPMs. Updating tune after the 500 miles.
