Just get the biggest resonator and muffler you can. More volume = more sound deadening.

The stock mufflers are twin-loop, which is why they are so quiet. It's similar to the Mugen/HyTech design.

My Custom 3" Exhaust - here is my old 3" system. The quality isn't good, but you get the idea of the sound. I used a long resonator, but not a canister type. Similar to what the JIC systems come with. Ended with a HKS carbon titanium turbo muffler.

I experienced no loss of torque bottom end or top end.

sounded like it buzzed a little but if it shows gains, it's worth it. My gsr powered civic buzzes some, and because it's a civic, I wish it didn't, lol.

actually it didn't. video is just really shit quality. It had a deep tone, and would scream at WOT. Those who heard it said it sounded like a jgtc car at higher rpm.

I seem to remember seeing a Dyno around here, which showed a pretty decent gain when the exhaust was increased to a 3 inch system.

Of course, as with all bolt on parts, tuning would be the best thing to do to realize the greatest possible gains.
