Ap1 Intake Cam in F22
I am running an f22 longblock in my ap1. It is tuned by a VAFC II. This weekend i'm going to swap in an f20 intake cam alone. What benifits or problems could I run into? Also, i did search and read the "official cam thread" which has almost nothing useful in it. Can someone give me some good information about this?

Uhhh the official cam thread has everything useful in regards to this. Also check LostMotion's build thread.
Don't do it unless you have something to tune it with IMO. And no, a VAFC does not count. |
I'll give you the Cliff's Notes: You will gain 2-3 HP up top, 1-2 HP midrange in VTEC and you will lose 2-3 ft-lbs of TQ out of VTEC. If there is anything you should be aware of, it's that the non-VTEC lobes on the AP1 cam "suck" compared to the AP2 and therefore you will gain the most by dropping VTEC as low as possible. VAFC is fine for tuning this.

i demand before and after dynos  jk jk but it would be nice to see actual gains and losses

If you can't then there isn't really any benefit IMO. Sacrificing our already weak midrange for 2-3hp up top just isn't worth it.

I don't see why not? IP should have told you to just use both cams, I&E. If you have them both, they match more nicely than just the intake side alone. For reference my Vtec is at 4k, ap1 cams f22 motor.

Well hopefully it will work out, i'll see what the intake does and go from there. I actually haven't talked to inline yet, i should have called by now. i'm getting my cam tommorow.
|
So now i've changed my mind, i'm going to put both cams in.

That must have been a difficult and painful decision to make but I think you're doing the right thing.
