AP1 obx itb's write-up and dyno

Well since there is not many info on these obx itb's I decided to do a simple write-up. I got these about 3 months ago and after changing some things and making sure i had everything i went ahead with the install. I can say after having them in my hands the itbs are well built even though they are a "copy", they need some tinkering in some areas but overall they are good. I can say that I'm very happy with the itb's, went yesterday for a drive and the car behaved amazing even with the a\c on and to me the fuel consumption stayed almost the same, If you have questions or concerns don't hesitate to ask i will gladly help. now to the pictures, dyno and videos!!

What changes did you have to do to the ITBs them self? Did you have to replace any parts?

Same question here. IIRC these need to be modified slightly to fit perfect. Any thoughts on this OP?

well, depends on what injectors you have but i had to make another hole in the fuel rail so it would sit lower and seal properly since the injectors are pretty short, tapped the hole for the coolant sensor to fit the oem sensor, change the way some nuts and bolts were installed since they stopped the linkage before it reached WOT, and did a port match (but i would recommend this even if you buy some other brands like toda or jenvey). i think that's it, if i remember anything else I'll post it

Did you buy them off eBay or did you have some other vendor? Ballpark price?

2Bs2k 09-22-2014 02:38 PM

I bought them for 1k on eBay from somebody who had an ap2 and decided not to install. I think the ball park price would be around $1,400 on the itb's, fpr, tps, fuel lines, etc if you decide to go with stock injectors.

nothing mayor except the things that I posted, even with the hondata gasket they fit excellent on the studs in the head.

thats cool so you made roughfly 25hp??? these would not pass smog in cali correct?

Kinda odd seeing dyno sheet on MPH and not RPM. Looks great though. What are you doing for a intake filter(s)?
