Berk 3" Exhaust Problem

Alright, I have had two issues with my Berk 3" exhaust and just wanted to see if anyone else has had similar problems.
The first issue is that the sound deadening material in the muffler has deteriorated and sounds like a bunch of sand is in the muffler when you tilt the exhaust (when I had it off of the car).
The second issue is that it only has 1/4" to 1/2" of space between the exhaust and the nuts and bolts that connect the axles to the arms. That is with the ap2 hangers being used. The exhaust has made contact with these bolts and put some scrapes and a good sized dent in the exhaust. Thankfully it did not punch a hole through the metal though.

So have any of you experienced these problems with your Berk? I know that its normal for exhausts to burn up their sound deadening material, but this sounded like there was a good amount in there shifting around whenever I moved it, so that's why I brought it up.

I have had both problems you speak of. The closeness to the axles can be cured with using the AP2 hangers in the right spot. For me I used the long side of the AP2 hanger at the mount point closes to where it connects to the header. The 2nd AP2 hanger I used at tip of the muffler to clear the bumper.

I had the hanger issue but no problem with my muffler. I played around with the mounts and now my exhaust sits close to the axle bolt but doesn't touch. Also, with the right mount positioning, the exhaust shouldn't move a lot. Mine moves some but not enough to contact that bolt.

Hmm I guess I'll take a look and see where I have the ap2 hangers mounted up at.

I had the same problem with my axle grinding against my exhaust. Especially in the rain -_-

Email Berk and they might replace the muffler for you. That's what they did when my buddy was having issues with his Berk 3".

As for the hangers, it's all about getting them the right way. I originally had this problem, and after I adjusted one of the 3 point hangers (which was the front most one on the cat-back part) to be the long side, I have had 0 clanks or issues. It gives another 1/4" clearance, which is all it needs.

never have had any issues with my berks setup yet

Another problem I now have is that there is a crack on the HFC that wraps around 3/4 of the exhaust. I have a check engine light and my car smells like gas. Im upset that it is no longer covered, I've had it for 1 year and 3 months

OEM cats are covered for 8 years or 80,000 miles. I doubt that will help your argument, but who knows.
