Brian Crower stage 3 dyno test

Green is a stock f20c
blue is my built motor on stock cams (2.2 liter, 12.5:1 compression with boltons)
Red is built motor with brian crower 3 cams, dyno'd back to back on the same day

There were no timing chain or clearance issues with these cams. I am using supertech dual valve springs.

all 3 setups were fully tuned with aem ems.

Nice numbers. It gave your car a little top end push. What else is in your motor aside from the stroker kit? pistons?

I have a build thread somewhere around here with more details but here's the quick run down.

custom 12.5:1 pistons (stock bore)
ap2 crank
ap1 carillo rods
RLZ valve job
custom 4 inch intake
the "good" ebay header
3inch dual exhaust
aem ems

Thanks for posting the dyno.

Looks like they helped a little bit up top. IDK if I could justify cost vs. gains for them, but a small pickup is better than none

who built your engine? What fuel are you using wit the 12.5 pistons? Those are very high comp if you ask me. Any knocking issues?

wadzii 07-25-2010 07:35 AM

I do all my own work

These motors deal with compression pretty well. I run 93 and don't have any detonation issues at all. The domes on the mahle pistons are a much Better design than the oe pistons.

Wow nice. I'm running 11.7 now since mine is a JDM and i experience pinging at start up whenever i use 93 octane.. So you're using Mahle pistons? hmmm i wonder how that will turn out on my engine...

wadzii 07-25-2010 08:14 AM

I had detonation issues on my stock motor with 93 octane.

The stock honda domes are almost spherical which is not good for combustion efficiency at all. The dome effectively pushes the mixture away from the spark plug, if you take a snap shot of the air/fuel mix in the chamber, the leanest part of the whole thing is around the spark plug.

In my mahle piston thread around here somewhere you can see the differences.

I thought I posted in here requesting the torque plot by RPM. What happened?

wadzii 07-25-2010 01:09 PM

check my other thread for that.

i was having some ignition pickup issues and couldnt get a good tach signal.

from the bits and pieces i did get, there was about 8 ft/lbs more at 9000 rpms, below 7500 it was almost exactly the same as stock.
