Is a decat a worthwhile mod or is it better to leave the cat in..??

Will be getting a cat back system but was just wondering about throoing on a decat while its all apart...

if you're not scared about police then decat it :LOL:
the cat is a huge brake in the exhaust, the motor can really breathe out without this shit

i've got the Berk HFC, because the test pipe smell and smoke is too conspicuous for me
but the HFC is has amlost the flow of a test pipe - HFC= best of both worlds :thumbup:

At least in California, getting caught without a catalytic converter can result in some hefty fine (upwards of $1000) and at worst, an impound.

However, in other states or countries that have lenient to no regulations over emissions, I'd say it's one of the simple things you can do to free up exhaust flow. Definitely worth it in my experience.

Depends on where you live.

For me it was an easy decision, even though oregon is a "green" state regulations on vehicles here isn't enough to worry about decatting :thumbup:

As far a performance goes its definately worth it; best bang for your buck power your gonna get with these cars :thumbup:

I did mine,,, my exhaust got louder and now my car smokes from time to time. But it's worth is,,, you really feel the added HP from such a easy modd. I got the magan TP with built in resonator. It kinda gives it a deep sound. I  it.

hfc. i couldn't take the test pipe smell on my car. it was particularly strong.

The S2000 already has a hiflow cat. It flows better than most OEM cats.

true, but a real HFC has much more flow than the OEM cat
i've tried all, TP, HFC and OEM and the HFC flows very close to the testpipe, but without the smell :)

Living in Ireland so i think a decat maybe on the way...

Does it make much of a difference to the noise of the exhaust....?
