If they are not much more, get the crower Maxi light F22 Rods. Much Stronger and lighter. Really good off the shelf, non custom rod

Thanks Ill check it out, harder to find a stock crank at the moment, rods no worries!

EDIT: they seem to be similar priced to Carillo rods.

hey bro, I was reading about ur posts and ur upgrade to the engine. I am going to be rebuilding the engine and was thinking of going the f22c crank plus rods and f20 pistons.

Can you please advise on what to look out for ? I mean should the redline be reduced ? Thin gasket for more compression ? What other upgrades can be advised on this route ?

really need your help as I am a bit lost.
Appreciate it bro

-Can you please advise on what to look out for? You will need an AP2 Crank and Rods. Running AP1 pistons will give you a 11.7:1 CR. JDM AP1 pistons will give you a 12.7'ish CR. You may need to notch the block on the bottom end for rod clearance.

-I mean should the redline be reduced? Typically AP2 guys like to keep it around 8400 and under for road racing use. If your doing drag strip stuff im sure you can rev it out to 9K+.

-Thin gasket for more compression? I would personally use OEM. The 11.7:1 CR will be fine for pump gas use

-What other upgrades can be advised on this route? Are you running AP2 retainers? Ap2 oil squirters? What are you running for intake and exhaust. My personal use and research has shown a passwordjdm intake makes great power, a custom 3.5" intake is a very great choice, test pipe if you can use it, and a 70mm or 3" exhaust will make great NA power. You need a way to tune the car that is where all the good power will be. Message me if you have any more questions. I am acutally looking at doing this build for my AP1 race car.
