Just buy a ferrari 458 motor and drop it in. You will have your v8, 9,000 RPM revving, one of highest hp/liter motors right there.

I'm trying to get in touch with Synergy Power to see what all they had to do to put two I4's together for their V8.

You could always look for the engine out of a current Ford Gt350. Flat plane hi revving V8. Even though swapping that into the S would be a pretty big undertaking I would think it is probably easier.

"The hand-assembled 5.2L Ti-VCT V8 with a Flat-Plane Crank (FPC) found on the 2017 Ford Shelby GT350® is the most powerful naturally aspirated road-going engine in Ford history. With a redline of 8,250 rpm, it's also Ford's highest- revving production V8 yet."

Here is a video of it running

I wish I had the video of him taking off for the toy run, one little twist of the throttle and smoke was coming off the rear tire.

I just looked that up, that's freaking sick. I'm just glad to know it's all possible! I just need to get into the engineering to figure it out. D:
