for 106mm stroke, I need to choose engine life or peak power at some point.
I compromised at 8000 RPM.

Engine life??
You do realize with such a long stroke the rod ratio of your engine is down in the 1.3x range, effectively throwing "engine life" out the window.
That stock muffler is holding the power way back, its counter-productive to build such a beast and bottleneck the exhaust so much..

Nice bump over stock. But you are leaving a lot of mid range on the table with such a high/stock vtec engagement point. Just as it sits you can see a bump in the curve where it comes in, which means it can be lowered more yet. Stock cams mated with your current exhaust may actually give you more mid range power and the same up top with your rev limit. But if you are happy with it then great Maybe down the road when you get use to it, you will consider revisiting some things to yield the full potential of the motor. If you had a better cat back system you could likely gain a lot more with your current cams. This is a case where it really is a compromise between noise level and power.

fulken , I don't know how many 2.7 are out there now, but I am so glad that more people are seeing the benefits of the N/A power available from the stroker. You are dead on with the HP numbers, that's what this motor hit with the first tune, after a good couple thousand miles and some really hard driving Rick was able to squeeze more ponies out- Congrats!!!!
