So they started tuning cold start. It's not 100% like stock but it's pretty darn close.

^^^^ it's more on tuners who don't take the time to work on people's start ups. Just from reading some of the horror stories on here of people with the v2. 1 guy went to get groceries comes back car don't start

I'll tell ya what, just knowing how tight the space is down there this thing "looks" like it would be a real job to install.

Not really. Especially with a lift. Also the stock sheilds are retained. It's all bolted back up

Well guys wat started out as an awesome day quickly turned to shit. We did the base numbers and on their mainline dyno got an awesome 205 whp and 142 tq. The dyno jet correction comes to 215 whp (forgot to get tq). I was very surprised. Then when the aem ecu went in it all went to shit. Lowered vtec to about 4400 rpms. The final result was 208 whp 143 tq ; dyno jet correction turns into 220 whp 151 tq. Car made about 11 whp in the midrange. We added some timing and the numbers just didn't change. Here's the final plot. The csr drives so much better and the response is great. But those numbers just dont make me happy..Sorry guys I let ya down.

1 more thing I found interesting is the stock ecu started dropping power at about 8200. Where my new tune doesn't drop as much. At 8400 the stock ecu was at 201 whp my new tune was at 207. At 8550 stock ecu is down to 196 new tune is at 206 whp. Not much but it's something positive. Also that was our 13th pull with hood closed. A side by side comparison of the top end. The stock ecu is pig rich. We leaned it out to about 12.7 .

Just curious, did you consider the Ballade header? I haven't made a header purchase so I'm still weighing all options.

No I didn't. The only headers i thought off were buddy club and urge. One is discontinued the other is to pricey..Just so hard to tell. Anyone who wouldn't have done a base tune would've been estatic with these numbers. We thought this car tuned would make 193 whp on the specific dyno. We were all surprised when we walked out with 208whp. On this same dyno my 05 si with a Jackson racing supercharger full boltons made 227 whp with the dyno jet correction. My Ap1 same dyno makes 220whp with the correction. That to me is pretty impressive..
It's alot faster that's for sure. Put a good bus length on a newer si on the ride home. I'm also taking into consideration that when we did the base numbers my car was sitting for a good 45-1hr before we did our base pull. Our final pull was after 5 hours on the dyno with no break and hood closed. Next yr I'm Gona take the map we currently have and take it to Jeff Evans and see if there's some tweaks he can do.
