I second the K20 swap, but if you're worried about budget, you should price everything for this. It may be better in the long-run, but for your budget you may be down 20 hp over the F20. It is very possible to get 280 whp from an NA K20/24, but you'll spend a fair bit of money doing it. Someone on the forum has a K24 swapped S2k and has commented on a similar thread about the amount of money he spent modifying the motor just to get to the F20 baseline.

FYI: there's an article on street tuner where they modify an F20 and get 283 hp out of it using special headers, exhaust, ITB's, Cams, and tuning. Hytech did the work for them, but it's $10,000 for the entire kit, or you can buy the header alone for ~1600. You can only buy the full kit, or just the header.

Yeah its exspensive increasing HP NA in this car. I recently changed over my Ap1 to an Aem infinity computer. With a tune makes very promising differences with existing bolt ons
