Its easy to see actually. 2000cc makes 200whp ish. 2400cc should make an additional 40. F24 is actually around 2350cc so you can attribute the extra 5hp to compression and other factors.

JSR_AP2,

I am almost done building my F24 block due to a bad main bearing from high revs for a prolonged period of time. Should be assembled by end of this week and dyno'd. I live in socal so the best octane we have is 91. There is a E85 close to me that I might try since I have an AEM EMS V2.

Parts List:

-Honda K24 Crank machined and balanced
-Inline Pro F24 connecting rods w/custom age 625+ bolts. replaced smaller end diameter for stock wrist pin size
-Stock AP2 pistons
-ACL Thrust,Main,Rod bearings
-Honda rear main seal
-Honda Headgasket

-Supertech 70lb beehive springs and TI retainers
-Supertech .07" keepers
-K&N Fipk short ram

-Invidia Testpipe
-DPT Motorsports Header
-AEM Tall manifold bungs (4)

-F1 Racing 10.75lb Flywheel
-ACT H021 Pressure plate
-Honda OEM Clutch disk
-Honda Pilot Bearing
-Honda Throwout Bearing

-Purol 10w30 fully synthetic oil
-Amsoil Dot4 Clutch fluid

-AEM EMS V2
-AEM 4-channel Wideband
-ID 1000cc Injectors

Great thanks to Jason over at CNC Speed Shop. Great advice and prices. After talking for a few minutes, I asked him what my CR would be. I thought it would be around 12.8:1 based off of what I read on Inlinepro's website. However since I am using stock AP2 pistons, it would be at 12.1:1, which should be okay for 91 octane. Gonna dyno probably saturday so I'll update then. If anything I have a couple gallons of E85 and see what it can do. Hopefully my build can help some people out with deciding what to do if they ever need to rebuild their engine.

Also, I should add, it all really depends on the tune. If you are running high CR, the tuner can make it conservative enough so that when you push the car, it is still safe from det. However, if you tune the car at its very limits, you can risk major damage. Like others said, it really depends on the tune. 91 in socal can be equivalent to 93 in some states on the east coast, based on what the additives the government requires. So I guess I will be the guinea pig in seeing what 91 in CALI can do on a F24 at 12.1:1. gonna be fun.

chubbykai,

Sweet. I'll likely be contacting you again with questions if you don't mind. I have another thread asking the max safe CR to run on 91 and all answers I got were lower numbers than yours. I'm very interested to see your dyno results and any tuning issues (predet control, etc.). I'd love to meet up sometime also to take a look in person. I'm in SGV now, but used to live in Canoga Park. I asked InlinePro about the use of my stock AP2 pistons also and they gave me the same response that it would be 12.8:1 CR which concerned me. Then they told me they're discontinuing the kit that retains the OEM piston.
Please keep me posted on your results.

thanasis11,

Thanks for the info. For some reason, I had it stuck in my head that compression gains were higher. Seems the generally accepted rule is 3-4% per full point of compression, so the gains from compression alone are minimal, about 7whp, similar to what you mentioned. That's good news. I'm looking forward to seeing how chubbykai's setup turns out since we're in the same general area.

Depends on dyno and other factors. This was a rushed tune since it was getting late. Also I'm still on stock exhaust and 91 octane. I'm sure I'd make more with larger exhaust and higher octane. Will be tunimg for e85 this weekend and see what i get

chubbykai,
How is your idle with the ID1000s? I've read idle can be rough with those (maybe poor spray pattern at low duty cycles?). Yah, I could just ask when we meet up, but I forget everything, so I'm throwing it out there now...ha.

Jason,
After I check out chubbykai's setup, I may be bugging you for the same parts. I just need to pick which nut I'm going to sell off to get the funds.

Idle is kinda rough only on cold starts. it evens out relatively fast tho. doesnt really bother me much. the thing i did notice was a kind of a hard start. doesnt crank as smoothly as stock. but not a deal breaker by any means.

For all you guys running an f24. Are you pluging the oil squirters ports? Or are you grinding/ knotching the pistons so they clear the oil squirters.

I kept them. Just bent them out of the way a little. I did use my stock pistons though, not aftermarket. Not sute if there's less clearance with aftermarket pistons.
