Mugen intake

This assessment is spot on. It looks just like mine; same sticker too. The mounting bolts are different than mine, however.

This Mugen carbon intake was already mounted on the S2k when I bought it.
Problem is that the filter inside is in bad condition i.e there are some small holes and the metal shielding is damaged/cut in some parts(!!!!). I don't know how this happened but I find the current state of the filter beyond repair and very risky for the engine itself.
I tried to order a replacement filter (part no. 17220-XGS-0000), but Mugen discontinued it. I'll put this link here as a reference : Go Tuning Unlimited
Is there a K&N similar filter that I can use? I don't want to move the car until I resolve this issue..

The first Mugen intakes were equiped with an aFe filter which looked similair like the K&N just green colored and maybe different filter material. Later they switch to K&N filters.
Here's a sketch with the filter dimensions:

Finally, after some months of having the Mugen intake inside a box got it installed. Looks great, but needs the ASM cooling plate and other bling parts inside the engine bay to get it in a proper look/condition.
I had the car parked for almost 2 months, so the feeling I had after driving it may not be the most accurate. In terms of performance I believe the gains are indeed minimal or none but in terms of engine sound I noticed a big difference. In Mid / High ranges the sound is much more deep.
