Default My 01' Budget Build

Hey all,

Got the car dyno tuned finally and the shop tuned it without the exhaust silencer in at 13:1 across the whole band, and when it's in it's between 12:4-12:6 or so. I haven't tested any 3rd or 4th gear pulls yet. I'm pretty sure their dyno was reading a bit low that day because my original dyno with them showed my bone stock max numbers to be 193 hp and 128 tq last year. I'm still happy with the before and after numbers. Great gains, especially in the mid's. They dropped VTEC to 4500.

What do you guys think?

Nice gains. But I'm curious to know why you have the FPR installed. Is the pressure from the stock injectors not enough for NA?

Are we to assume this is an AP1? Where did you set VTEC? It looks like there are 2 engagement points.

Gernby,

Yes AP1, MY01. It was set at 4500 RPM.

Can you explain more what you mean about setting two engagement points? I need to understand this better.

Thanks,

Erik

I believe Gernby is referring to the two spikes on your dyno graph, one at 4200 and the other 5200.

Can that be another VTEC engagement point? If so, I was not told and I didn'nt know you could do that...LOL! Do you think the a/f is off or something at that point (or near)?

Thanks,

Erik

I don't know the exact reason or theory behind it, but I've read that you can extract the most power by adding a second VTEC engagement point. If it was intentionally added, then I'm sure your tuner adjusted the fuel tables accordingly; if you want to be sure, ask your tuner to provide you with a AFR graph from your dyno session.

Disregard my 1st question above. I figured out why you have an FPR - it's because you have an Apexi Neo.
