Default My AP1 on the dyno with BC Stage 2 cams

I thought I'd post this up separately here (my build thread is in the Australia forum), because my tuner and I are both pretty confused by these results. My relevant specs are as follows;

2001 AP1 (F20C)
K&N FIPK
Greddy Ti-C 70mm Single Exhaust
Invidia 70mm De-cat pipe
J's Racing Exhaust Manifold
Haltech Pro Plug-in ECU
Injector Dynamics 1000cc Injectors

The red line in the graph has;
AP2 valve retainers (intake & exhaust)
OEM cams

The blue line in the graph has;
Supertech dual valve springs and titanium retainers
Brian Crower Stage 2 NA cams

Here's a video of the dyno run;

I will state that we didn't yet degree the BC cams as we wanted to see how they performed "out of the box". Given the results above, I'm questioning buying Toda adjustable cam gears to use with the BC cams as I feel like I'll just be trying to catch up with the performance of the OEM cams.

I might send my dyno graph to BC and see what they have to say.

Any thoughts are very welcome.

Hmmm,this is disapointing. I really don't have any advice for you being my lack of tuning knowledge but am in for more info. These were my next purchase too. But that does seam rather odd since everyone else I have talked to says they felt great improvements. Of course, no dyno to prove it...

Since you are not showing any gains on the low lift lobes (it should), I can only think of 3 things;
1) Noisy valvetrain pulls timing back (knock sensors), could be check in the datalog, what is knock count/max timing up top? You guys should have already looked at that...
2) Losing compression, engine deteriorate as tuning went on... doubt that... but....
3) Cams have been mixed up? Int installed in Ex and vice versa....
VTEC seems to come on at 5800 rpm in your graph...what is it set at?
I would not buy the Toda cam gear, not for 4-5 hp.....
Mine are installed straight up and work very well....
Cheers & good luck

double check that the cams are lined up right, Its really easy to be off a tooth.

+1 Definitely could be!
Also may be a slipping clutch?

Thanks for all the replies. I'm sure the cams are lined up correctly - here's a pic;

I assumed that the exhaust cam was in the box labelled "Exhaust", but they could have been mixed up during packaging. I'll have to double check this. VTEC is set at 4800rpm. Dyno conditions were pretty similiar, it was possibly a little cooler on the day we tested the BC cams. We will re-install the OEM cams and put it back on the dyno just to check that it's not the valvetrain or clutch or compression etc. It'll be about a month before I get a chance to do that, but I'll post up my results.

The S2000 will not start if the timing is off a tooth. Ask me how I know

Strange, my AP1 wouldn't turn over with Ex/In off a tooth.
