Default my Ktuned 80mm TB

Well, i am still having high idle and high exhaust temp issues. I may have found my high idle issue. Whether or not its tied in with my high exhaust temp not sure. but maybe... heres a pic of the 80mm up to some lighting. Hoping to resolve my high exhaust temp here. But just wanted to show you guys what my 80 looks like in hope of someone showing me their 80mm to compare it to.

Heres what I did today.....I did find a crack in a temporary tee that fed MAP and FPR. Thinking that was going to fix my issue....I replaced that tee and it still had a high idle and my engine temp warmed up pretty quickly but no over heating. Exhaust manifold was cherry red after a few mins. Keep in mind this was only idling. AFR was 14.4-14.7 the whole time after it warmed up.

I should mention that my MAP pressure was -16in/HG.

How many degrees timing were you logging at idle? Was your ECU/tune trying to fix the erratic idle by adjusting timing?

thats a good question. I wish I remember what my tuner said. I want to say he said it was at 8 btdc. He gave me the impression that it looked normal. But at -16 on the map the engine thought there was some load right? But according to the afr it didn’t seem like it. That’s all programmable of course. We had the iacv removed and plugged. If it was in we got a surging idle.

16in/Hg translated to something meaningful for me is 54 kPa
That's almost half of what I see on my ITB's at idle and those got over 60% bigger throttle area.
What does K-tune say? Maybe they could provide a better fitting blade.

I have mine in my room. I can take a pic when I get home. Silly question, but Im sure you know there is an adjusting screw to allow the TB to close 100%. Have you checked to see where yours is at?

Oh yeah that’s the first thing I tried. We backed it all the way out. The throttle plate is wedged a little in the housing in this picture. If I force it any more closed the idle will slow to around 1100. But no less than that.

i pulled out my 70mm just to compare and I barely saw any light from around the plate.

i am calling them today. Just have to wait until they open up and find a window for me to call them. Hopefully they can assist.

lol we’ll use the metric system one of these days. I am trying to use it more often at work. But old habits.... yeah should be around -20 in/hg or -67kpa lol
