not sure if this the right topic
ok so i have a HKS high-power and i just put on a invidia 60mm w/ CEL fix. came with an anti fouler and there was no CEL at first. i pulled up at my house and there was a large amount of smoke just pouring out my exhaust. so i went for a drive to see if that would change anything and then the CEL came on. also my car burns oil really fast but it seems like that is way to much smoke for just oil. please help.

it smells like oil and non filtered exhaust, and it is grayish. also i changed my oil to full synthetic then this started happening. could that do it?

Did it happn right after you put you exhaust on? More like when you put your test pipe on? Most times when you remove you car your car tends to smoke. Are cars burn oil. Bad sometimes. Or you have a valve prob. Maybe it's time for valve adjustment or cable seals need to be replaced. My car smokes alittle after I out my exhaust on. I'm guessing it always did but I couldn't see it because of the cat, now that the TP is on it's a lot more free flowing so it shows now. But only sometimes.

It's a really hard question to narrow down:
1) Switching from conventional to synthetic, you could just be burning crap off
2) Burning off oil from oil change
3) TP is installed correctly w/o any leaks correct?
4) Make sure that the CEL is the O2 sensor before clearing it
I'd make sure the CEL is the O2, if it is then drive on it for a bit, and if the smoke hasn't cleared in a few days then return back here. It really sounds like you're just burning a bunch of crap from not running synthetic. I know back years ago in my prelude when I switched to synthetic, my shit had some puffs of smoke for a bit.

i think its because its burning the old crap out but i switched back to the stock cat because it was like a smoke bomb at stop lights and it was just embarrassing. going to wait till next weekend and then but the test pipe back on and see what happens. does the stock ecu have to readjust its self after the test pipe?
no leaks were there used new gasket and tightened the spring load bolts really tight.
im pretty sure it was the o2 sensor because the CEL went away after a couple miles with the stock cat.
oil level is full, just put the synthetic in and thats why i think it is burning the extra crap off.
