i think i read a post in the past that you said you've never seen a 00-01 with bolt ons run lean? does that sound right?

That's correct. These ecu run really rich, and the flow of the engine in secondary cam when lowered still doesn't get too lean when ecu thinks its still running primary cam/fueling. You will end up trimming fuel typically from 2500 rpm up to the new lowered vtec transition, say 4k, and then start trimming more fuel again around 5500rpm and then again about 8k to redline. These corrections get you a flat fuel curve on a lowered vtec ap1 with a vafc/neo. Ap2/04-05 similar but to a lessor degree, and actually can end up needing to introduce a fpr into the mix to add fuel in the mid range where vtec was lowered. The F22 just breaths better, esp in the lower/mid range rpms and the factory ecu fueling is more dialed in from the factory not leaving as much leeway when you start improving the breathing.

AP2 VTEC at 3600rpm tuned by Gernby with Toda Header, savag exhaust system, intake and FD4.77 really brings car alive... 0 lag time, you always on VTEC... very large torq and quick = fun~!
