Default rebuild! HELP

I am rebuilding my top block after a messed up valve. I am considering all motor that will pass smog in CA. What kind of upgrades from the cheapest to the most expensive that i can do? I know there is upgrades on valves and cam shaft, but to those who have done it, please let me know.

If you want it to pass smog don't increase compression. Higher compression= higher nox. Also we check to see if timing is set to oe if not you could fail for that too.

If you're still looking to pass smog there isn't much you can do internally to get power.

what internal parts? If I were you I'd stroke it while you have the motor out. You can probably run 11.6:1 and still pass smog.

Hmm from your post it seems you bent a valve or something and your rebuilding your head. Just get some port work done on your head and I'm assuming its an ap1 switch to ap2 retainers, upgrade your valve springs and when you put it together use a little thinner head gasket so it bumps your compression ever so slightly.
