Default S2000 f20c tune

Hello guys!
I own a s2000 2004 wtih f20c engine..yeah its common where i come from (we dont get the 2.2lt engine)
This is my car!

anyway, my mods are
J's racing headers
Berks Test pipe
Amuse Exhaust system (dual)
Aem V2 CAI
Apexi Vafc2 (which i am about to replace with an HKS F-CON V Pro v3.3)

I have an aem wideband UEGO, which is connected on the extra slot on the j's headers..
The thing is, the car with the (vafc2 with zero settings) runs RIDICULOUSLY lean at WOT! i would say dangerously lean.. It would run from 6000-9000 in the range 14.5 - 14 !!!
With some + correction on the VAFC the A/F ratio is now from 6000-9000 13.9 - 11.9..(gradual line)
I believe that the VAFC2 is crap! And i want a proper tune for my s2000!
I got a sweet deal for an HKS F-CON V Pro v3.3 with s2000 harness and a quote from the ONLY certified HKS tuner in my country..that is (700euro for the ecu and 350euro for the tune) yeah everything is cheap around here because everyone run out of money!

SO my question is, will my car benefit from a tune? does it worth the 1000ish euro?
I am doing it 70% for safety and 30% for gains
=ideal scenario for me is to get 10-15hp gains + 5000ish rpm vtec point + a lot of midrange gains + launch control + S A F E T Y of my motor!!

Opinions please!

P.S. = i know both the tuner and the seller of the ECU..
they are legit and have good reputation..
The ecu was bought for 1300euro and used for a short period of time and then the car was parted out and sold..the seller is a friend of mine

hi,i am using HKS V pro on my f24c motor too,i think maybe 20hp up gains if u have a good tuner. Then 5000 rpm vtec point may too early..my experience is 5800.

lot midrange gains (it's really not possible..) b/c f20c is 87mm x 84mm .. finally ,i set my A/F ratio from 5800-8600 rpm 14.3-13.5 ...many people using Vpro in my country ,but if u want the best , just get Haltech sport 1000 or Motec m400 !

Thanks that is useful information!
Is it ok to be around 14? i mean is it safe?

To be honest i dont mind if i dont lower vtec..i like the 6k point

I talked with the tuner today and 80% I will be proceeding with the tune..+ a valve adjustment

Soooo, i have installed the HKS Fcon VPro v3.3! and made a tune with an authorized HKS tuner in the island (that's cyprus)
The tuner suggested a street tune and not a dyno tune as he was very familiar with these type of cars..
I will be going to the dyno for further tuning but mostly for curiosity though..in the following week most probably

Comments about the tune and the car=
The car is amazing! It's much more responsive, the pickup is 5 times quicker when you get on the gas..the afr's are consistent and around 13.XX..vtec crossover is now at 5500 but boy when it comes on its more like a BAMMM now..much more noticeable than before..we didnt change the redline, but the gear changes are at 8800rpm...you can keep going for a little more but there is no point..the check engine light was modded to also act as a shift light at 8800 rpm..launch control is set at around 5000rpm with a button to activate it..after 15-20secs of hard driving and then you ease down you have a backfire, (fire coming out of both exhausts)..there are gains everywhere, but the more noticeable ones are in midrange and also below vtec..I reckon this will help a lot in the track as midrange is really a key..will post video when i get around in the track..probably in a couple of weeks..

Comments from the tuner= he said the car was very responsive with all the inputs that he dialed in, he said tha t the car allowed him to make 7% more corrections than other similar cars..he said that it had amazing low end torque, which is unlike for honda engines. He said that he set the car working a tat richer for safety..He also said that the aem uego that i have installed is accurate to 0.1-0.2..so i can trust it!
He also said that the stock injectors reached a maximum of 93%..

Thats all! I thought i would put my milestone in this great forum!

P.S.= At the end i only paid 650euro for the ecu and harness and 300euro for the tune and sold the Vafc2 for 80euro!

Too bad you didn't get to see any horsepower numbers so you can document the gains actually made. Lots of misinformation by other members though. You don't need aftermarket cams to lower VTEC. Mine is set at 4200 which creates way more low end torque. Of course you won't see any gains by lowering VTEC with the OEM catalytic converter though. Glad everything is figured out and enjoy your faster s2000

thanks MBHs2k!

I have a couple of friends which we use to drag sometimes..from a roll to around 200kmh, and we tested the cars before and after my tune..I believe i picked up around 1.5 to maybe 2 car lengths from roll 2nd gear to end of 4th gear..I know it is not an accurate measure but it is somehow a measure
but besides that, i gained many more that will not show in a simple drag race..like throttle response, pickup, smoothness, safety etc
