Samco intake arm on 06+
I just wanted to check peoples opinions on the way I installed this. I've seen another tread saying to plug the second hole then drill another one for the sensor, that Didn't make as much sense as this way to me.

Your using a 00-05 version for your 06+ DBW. Thats why it doesn't make sense.

 I recently searched for an 06+ dbw samco intake arm. From what I gather, Samco had a limited release of them many years ago, but they no longer produce it. Ballade Sports makes a universal silicone arm that works on all model year cars. That's what I chose to go with when my factory arm ripped.
Your set up should work fine looks like, but just giving you and anyone else the heads up for the future if you want the proper one for your year. |

HPS also makes the exact same intake arm but for the correct DBW with the two small nipples on top. I just ordered one last week for $130 off Ebay. Amazon also sells them, as well as HPS website. I have a 01 but no longer run the air injection so I didn't want the large nipple provision shown on yours. I also extended and relocated my IAT sensor from the stock manifold location and run to the nipple closest to the filter where it can pick up cooler air like on the DBW models.

I think what i'm going to do, is cut the port where i put the IAT sensor a bit shorter so i can put it in deeper. or do you think it doesn't really matter the position of the sensor? |

I would leave it alone if its working, no sense in creating an obstruction/turbulence in the intake. The sensor should be picking up the temp as is if you have no cel. Sticking it in deeper isn't going to make it read cooler, which would be the only reason to move it.
